NYX Cosmetics Lip Lingerie Liquid Lipstick Swatches on Dark Skin & Review

Hey Loves

How are you all doing this fine day? I feel great and I am looking forward to all the gorgeous holiday collections hitting the cosmetics market soon.

Today I am here to share my views on the NYX Cosmetics lip Lingerie liquid lipsticks. I will keep it super short and sweet as I am sure you have read and watched a million other reviews on them already. I have physically lip swatched all twelve colours (yay me) so I would like to say that I have a great understanding of how the formula works and what (if any) can be improved.

Ruffle Trim

This review will be a general view of the product; packaging, applicator, price point and formula. For an in depth review of each color, please click the video links below to watch lipswatches of all 12 colors.

According to NYX Cosmetics, these lipsticks are described as a weightless liquid lipstick with a plush matte finish. Available in a range of color-kissed nudes from cinnamon pink and chocolate brown, to warm mahogany red and classic nude beige each sultry shade will coat the curves of your lips with irresistibly creamy color”

The above sounds good right? here are my thoughts

Packaging and applicator:

Ruffle Trim with Mac Cosmetics OH Darling Highlighter

It comes in a sleek plastic tube with a black cap and a transparent bottle. You can see the color of the product in the bottle and majority of the shades are true to color. The flexible, flat applicator makes it a bit difficult to apply the product as it is quite awkward when trying to cover the edges of the lips. A little bit of product comes out on the applicator at a time which is great for a cleaner, more precise application.

The name of the product along with ingredient are also represented on the packaging. They do not come in individual boxes but for a price point of £6.50, I cant complain.

Price point and formula:
The product retails for £6.50 in boots.com, I think it is a great price for the amount of product you get. All 12 shades are totally different in color, it is a great range of nudes (warm and cool tone). Some of the shades are definitely not woman of color friendly (without having to tweak it with a lip liner) while some look amazing and would work as everyday/event lip shades. To find out what  colors suit a WOC (no liner needed) please watch the lip swatch video linked below).

Regarding the formula, they are weightless and very kind to the lips. They do dry down to a matte finish but not a totally non-transferring matte finish. They are very long wearing but will come off if you eat oily foods or have a few drinks. All in all, I love the way they feel on the lips.

It was a bit hit or miss for me regarding the shades, some of the shades were very opaque and very easy to apply but others were patchy, needed layering and quite difficult to work with, None of them had an off putting smell (you guys know I am very particular when it comes to smell lol).

I love this formula, I feel like NYX knocked it out of the park with this collection, these lipsticks are my goto everyday nudes when I want something hassle free and quick.
